The Park Avenue Community Center is thrilled to welcome award-winning photojournalist Ron Tarver as the next featured guest in our popular speaker series, Rotary Arts Conversations, on Friday, January 17 at 7 p.m.

Join us for an in-depth discussion with Tarver about his stellar 40-year career as a photojournalist, fine arts photographer and educator, including three decades as a photojournalist at The Philadelphia Inquirer, where he shared the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for his work on a series documenting school violence in the Philadelphia public school system.

Tarver is an associate professor of art at Swarthmore College and recently published his second book, The Long Ride Home: Black Cowboys in America.

His photography over the last 30 years has explored many facets and experiences of the Black community. His fine arts photography has been exhibited nationally and internationally.

Tickets are $10 and include a wine-and-cheese reception following the discussion. Walk-ins are welcome as space permits.
