We’re excited to welcome multi-talented designer Susan Smythe as the next featured guest in our popular speaker series, Rotary Arts Conversations.
Join us for an in-depth discussion with Smythe as we hear about her varied career as a designer of many things — from theater to buildings and a variety of decorative objects.
Smythe began her career at People’s Light theatre as the costume shop manager and designer before moving on to Swarthmore College where she ran the Performing Arts Center and also worked as the resident designer for dance and theatre.
For 25 years, she worked alongside her husband, Robert Smythe, in his acclaimed company Mum Puppettheatre, as well as designing for other Philadelphia theatre companies.
In 2007, she created her own housewares company called Crooked Dog Designs.
Tickets are $10 and include a wine and cheese reception afterwards with the artist. Walk-ins are welcome as space permits.
