The Park Avenue Community Center is thrilled to welcome People’s Light Producing Artistic
Director Zak Berkman as the next featured guest in our popular speaker series, Rotary Arts
Conversations.
Join us for an in-depth discussion with Berkman about his successful 30-year career as a playwright, composer and director, including his work on and off-Broadway productions.
Berkman is a multifaceted artist – a writer, composer, director, and dramaturg – who has
decades of experience producing theater and developing new plays and musicals.
Berkman’s own plays include The Harassment of Iris Malloy, Beauty on the Vine, and A Breath
Short of Breathing. He was the co-author/composer of Such Things As Vampires, which received a Barrymore Award for original music.
Berkman joined People’s Light as Associate Artistic Director in 2011 and was promoted to Producing Artistic Director in 2022.
Tickets are $10 and include a wine-and-cheese reception.
