SUMMARY:HAAS Sisters
DESCRIPTION:Sisters Natalie and Brittany Haas grew up blending Bach with Old-Time tunes before carving out distinct\, world-class careers. After years of following divergent paths\, these virtuosos finally unite for their first duo album\, HAAS. Natalie\, a Juilliard graduate\, is credited with putting the cello on the map of contemporary Celtic music through her rhythmic innovation and long-term collaboration with Alasdair Fraser. Brittany\, among the most influential fiddlers of her generation\, has reshaped American acoustic music through her work with Crooked Still\, Hawktail\, and Steve Martin. HAAS represents a collaboration a lifetime in the making\, synthesizing their global travels—from Nashville to Norway—into a singular\, masterful sound. Together\, these two brightest lights of contemporary strings have absorbed and adapted a world of music to create a performance that is both deeply rooted and strikingly original. \nBrittany Haas\, violin • Natalie Haas\, cello \nMore Information

SUMMARY:The Grand Duke or the Statutory Duel
DESCRIPTION:Something Grand is coming to Wallingford! \nRose Valley Chorus and Orchestra\, a musical theater company\, will present The Grand Duke or The Statutory Duel\, the final collaboration between comedic-opera legends Gilbert and Sullivan opening October 31\, 2026. \nGilbert and Sullivan’s The Grand Duke or the Statutory Duel is filled with humor\, lively music\, surprising twists and plenty of confusion. This rarely performed comedy gives audiences a chance to enjoy one of the famous duo’s lesser-known shows. Rose Valley Chorus and Orchestra brings together talented local singers\, actors\, and musicians to delight audiences with this entertaining production. \nIn Gilbert and Sullivan’s ultimate collaboration\, a troupe of actors conspires to overthrow the unpopular and miserly Grand Duke. Things go awry when their plot is accidentally revealed\, prompting a series of disputes and political successions settled by “statutory” duel—an ingenious law that renders the legal death of the adversary who draws the lowest from a deck of cards. Hilarious entanglements\, including thwarted marriages and questionable legal contracts\, imbue this topsy-turvy comic opera with a wit and charm that only Gilbert and Sullivan can contrive. Never fear\, a lawyer solves the problem and all ends happily. \nAll performances are at Strath Haven Middle School\, 200 S. Providence Road\, Wallingford\, PA 19086. \nThis run includes two matinees on Saturdays\, October 31 and November 7 at  2 p.m. and one Saturday evening performance November 7 at 7:30 p.m.; Sundays\, November 1 and November 8 at 2 p.m.; and Wednesday\, November 4 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are general admission and good for any performance. Online tickets can be purchased at http://www.rvco.org/. Cash\, checks\, and online payments are also available at the door. \nFor other questions\, e-mail tickets@rvco.org or call us at 484-981-9108 \nMore Information

SUMMARY:Danny Paisley and The Southern Grass
DESCRIPTION:Danny Paisley & The Southern Grass – Danny Paisley and The Southern Grass continue to be deeply rooted in tradition but look to the future with enthusiasm and anticipation. Coming off the success of their latest release\, Bluegrass Troubadour\, which received nominations for IBMA’s Album of the Year and Song of the Year (Blink of an Eye)\, the group looks forward to the release of their newest project in 2025\, which includes the No. 1 single ‘Till Lonesome Comes Around. \nDanny Paisley and the Southern Grass play powerful\, unadorned\, and intense traditional bluegrass. There is no hybrid or genre-bending music here. Their combination of instrumentation and vocals convey the energy and emotion of classic bluegrass and country music. Danny’s lead vocals will captivate your senses\, so much so that many prominent musicians\, including Alison Krauss\, have considered Danny as one of their favorite singers. His voice combines powerful range and soulful blues with a sound like no one else in bluegrass today. \nWebsite | Instagram | Facebook \nMore Information

You may want to arrive closer to 6:00 to be sure you get a slot.  House band is normally available to back you up if you wish. \nFREE admission for all.   A modest donation by performers and audience members is less than you might spend on a drink or two at the bar or a coffee at Starbucks and helps offset the cost of operating the building. \nMore Information
