SUMMARY:Delaware County Symphony Presents Celebrating America 250 Symphony Concert
DESCRIPTION:Experience an exhilarating musical tribute to America’s artistic spirit as the Delaware County Symphony presents a program honoring the nation’s 250th anniversary on Sunday\, May 3 at 3:00 PM. \nThe concert opens with Leonard Bernstein’s sparkling Overture to Candide. The spotlight then turns to the winner of the Youth Concerto Competition\, Julie Chen\, with a rare performance of the technically demanding Cello Concerto in A minor; Op 22 by Samuel Barber. Aaron Copland’s powerful A Lincoln Portrait follows\, blending stirring narration by Scott Cullen with the composer’s unmistakably open\, American sound. The performance culminates in William Dawson’s Negro Folk Symphony\, a profound and deeply moving work that weaves spirituals and folk traditions into the symphonic sound. \nFind out more about the pieces featured at this concert by attending Meet the Music\, a free\, pre-concert lecture presented by Neumann University Music Professor\, Dr. Richard Sayers\, at 2:00 PM. \nThe Celebrating America 250 Symphony Concert will be presented on May 3 at 3:00 PM in Neumann University’s Meagher Theatre. Tickets for the concert may be purchased at dcsmusic.org/tickets

SUMMARY:Mile Zero/Astrophels/Alright Junior
DESCRIPTION:Alright Junior – A rare alternative rock band that is both fiercely technical and emotionally immediate. Their sound blends driving rhythms\, turbulent dynamics\, evoking lyrics\, and melodic urgency into something unmistakably their own\, equal parts intensity and finesse. Each member brings a sharpened musicianship that elevates their live shows into kinetic\, high-energy experiences that feel larger than the room. \nAstrophels- Philadelphia trio Astrophels is the heaviest band at the indie show and the softest band at the metal show. Their sound serves melodic lyrics-forward vocals on top of hard-hitting drums and bass; filling the space with guitars that shift from ambient to heavy as needed. \nMile Zero-  Heavy Alt Rock from Philly \nMore Information

SUMMARY:Folk Brunch with The John Byrne Band and Cameron Brooks
DESCRIPTION:The John Byrne Band –  The John Byrne Band is led by Dublin native and Philadelphia-based John Byrne. Their debut album\, After the Wake\, was released to critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic in 2011. With influences ranging from Tom Waits to Planxty\, John’s songwriting honors and expands upon the musical and lyrical traditions of his native and adopted homes. John and the band followed up After the Wake in early 2013 with an album of Celtic and American traditional tunes. The album\, Celtic/Folk\, pushed the band on to the FolkDJ Charts\, reaching number 36 in May 2015. Their third release\, another collection of John Byrne originals\, entitled “The Immigrant and the Orphan”\, was released in Sept 2015. The album\, once again\, draws heavily on John’s love of Americana and Celtic Folk music and with the support of DJs around the country entered the FolkDJ Charts at number 40. \nCameron Brooks  –  A folk singer-songwriter based in Philadelphia. Founded on lyrical storytelling\, his work explores the nuanced range of the human experience. \nMore Information

SUMMARY:The Tressels "Prison Wine" 20th Anniversary Show
DESCRIPTION:The Tressels – The Tressels turn personal and professional tragedies into earnest anthems about hope\, addiction\, betrayal\, and regret. Played by lifelong friends who still believe rock & roll is a noble pursuit\, the band has been a fixture of the Philadelphia and Delco music scenes for over two decades. \nThe Sparklers –  A loud\, melodic trio from Philadelphia\, Pennsylvania – punch-drunk romantics playing gutter pop and junk country\, but it’s really just Rock ’n’ Roll.\nContinuing a tradition of love songs directed at anyone other than the ones they love\, their new album Miss Philadelphia would fit well next to records by songwriters named Westerberg\, Mould\, or Strummer. Their combination of “heart on the sleeve” lyrics\, anthemic guitars\, and driving rhythms create a sound even larger than the City of Brotherly Love that inspired it. \nQuarry  – Formed in 2024 by drummer Dave Adoff\, bassist Kyle Allred\, and guitarist Chris Woodhead\, Quarry combines 90’s indie rock\, twangy Americana\, and heartfelt punk to create an engaging rock n’ roll sound. Guitarist Dennis Prendergast was brought on board in late 2025 to help create a more dynamic live experience. The band is currently working on their debut full-length to be released in summer 2026. \nMore Information

SUMMARY:Chrome Horse: The Bob Dylan Tribute
DESCRIPTION:Chrome Horse: The Bob Dylan Tribute – An authentic recreation of Bob Dylan in his prime\, helmed by Texas-based musician Drew Gabbert. With a repertoire spanning six decades\, Gabbert possesses the ability to embody Dylan’s many voices with startling accuracy and reverence—from the “young man in old man’s clothes” to the country crooner and the elder statesman. \nHaving performed over 90 shows across 40 states and recently completing his first international date in Dublin\, Ireland\, Gabbert has brought this experience to illustrious stages such as Daryl’s House\, House of Blues\, and the Lincoln Amphitheatre. \nIn this two-hour solo acoustic performance\, the show mirrors Dylan’s most legendary sets: a stark stage\, a single spotlight\, and no distractions. By deliberately eschewing modern technology and electronics\, the musical presentation remains raw\, precise\, and unmatched. It is a stripped-back\, emotional experience that allows the soul of these timeless songs to take center stage. \nFacebook | Instagram  \nMore Information

SUMMARY:The DelCobras/The Ant. and Ang. Band/Wash\, Re-wash
DESCRIPTION:DelCobras – 2025 is the year of the snake\, and also the year DelCobras have chosen to slither onto the Philadelphia rock scene and take the world by storm with their three headed Power Pop. \nDelCobras is comprised of Jim “Scoopski” Lorino\, Marc Schuster\, and Nick Cervini. The 3 were also members of the live iteration of the band Scoopski. The trio decided to continue playing music together after Scoopski returned back to being a solely home recording project. So\, the trio shed their old skin\, decided to try on some new skin in their snakey green suits\, and take on a slighly more aggressive yet also more straightforward sound. \nThe band’s first single “The Turnaround” is a rocking\, rousing Power-Pop anthem of self redemption. Inspired by the Phillies/Trea Turner Netflix documentary of the same name\, Lorino wrote a relatable\, hard hitting rocker about overcoming adversity and re-finding yourself. \nChange can be scary\, but don’t fear the cobra. \nWebsite | Facebook | Instagram   \nThe Ant & Ang Band – A funky blues-rock group from Philadelphia\, PA\, known for high-energy live shows and a growing following\, with sold-out performances at The Fire\, Silk City\, and The Gem earning them a reputation for tight grooves\, strong vocals\, and engaging performances. Recorded with producers Obie O’Brien and Mike Lawson and mastered by Phil Nicolo\, the band has built momentum around standout tracks like “Dancing in France” and “Cotton Candy Clouds\,” now staples of their live set. \nFacebook I Instagram \nWash\, Re-Wash – Wash\, Re-Wash is an experimental rock band that blends feeling and soul with limitless musical freedom. \nFacebook I Instagram \n  \nTICKETS AND MORE INFO
