DESCRIPTION:Imagine – it’s September 1934. \nSaunders\, the general manager of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company\, is primed to welcome world-famous singer Tito Merelli\, known as Il Stupendo\, the greatest tenor of his generation\, to appear for one night only as the star of the opera. Tito arrives late\, and through a hilarious series of mishaps\, he is given a double dose of tranquilizers and passes out. \nHis pulse is so low that Saunders and his assistant Max believe he’s dead – and in a frantic attempt to salvage the evening\, Saunders persuades Max to get into Merelli’s costume and fool the audience into thinking he’s Il Stupendo. Max succeeds and lives up to his idol\, but Merelli regains consciousness and gets into the identical costume\, ready to perform. \nNow two opera singers are running around in the same costume and two women are running around in lingerie\, each thinking she is with Il Stupendo. SUMMARY:Kelly Center Music Open Mic - Delco Arts Week
DESCRIPTION:Music Open Mic Night – Singers\, Musicians and Listeners Welcome \nMusic Open Mic Night happens the first and third Wednesdays of the month. Event hours from 6PM to 9PM.  Sign ups begin at 6PM at the door. \nPlease note this night is for music only. There are other events at the Kelly Center for comedy and other types of performances. \nCome out to listen\, bring your instrument or sing to your backing track. Microphones and PA provided.  We also have a Keyboard\, Guitar\, and Drum Kit available.  We limit the number of signups to ensure each act gets two songs. You may want to arrive closer to 6:00 to be sure you get a slot.  House band is normally available to back you up if you wish. \nFREE admission for all.   A modest donation by performers and audience members is less than you might spend on a drink or two at the bar or a coffee at Starbucks and helps offset the cost of operating the building. \nMore Information
