Emerging Artists Concert Series

82nd Season – 2022-2023

Our Emerging Artists Series continues with a virtual concert featuring the “dazzling” (New York Classical Review) violist Jordan Bak performing diverse works by Brahms, de Falla, Vaughan Williams, and more with pianist Yevgeny Yontov. Bak’s awards include being named the 2021 YCAT Robey Artist, a 2020 Sphinx Competition top laureate, Grand Prize winner and Audience Prize recipient of the 2019 Concert Artists Guild Victor Elmaleh Competition, and most recently a ClassicFM “30 Under 30” Rising Star. His debut album this spring has already been streamed on major platforms more than one million times, and he holds degrees from New England Conservatory and The Juilliard School, where he is only the third violist to earn the Artist Diploma. Yontov won prizes at the 2017 Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master, Wideman International Piano, and Berliner International Music Competitions. He is a founding member of Icarus Quartet and earned a B.Mus. summa cum laude from Tel Aviv University and an M.M. and D.M.A. from the Yale School of Music. The concert is available from Mar. 1 through 14 on a pay-what-you-wish basis.
