Monday, November 11, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
FreeThis free reading of Neil Simon’s The Odd Couple (Female Version) presented by BLACK MAGIC WOMAN productions. Light refreshments will be provided.
In Simon’s revision of his classic comedy, the lead characters have been transformed into \
Olive Madison and Florence Unger. During the weekly Trivial Pursuit game at Olive’s apartment, a despondent Florence arrives and drops a bombshell – she’s been unceremoniously dumped by her husband of 14 years. Afraid she might do away with herself, Olive invites Florence to be her new roomie.
Florence is obsessively clean. Olive’s default is Hot Mess. Can these women live together without driving each other crazy?
Black Magic Woman Productions grew out of a need to create opportunities for theatre artists of color. Since 2006, BMW Productions has promoted an appreciation for the African-American theatre canon. Led by playwright Renee Lucas Wayne, this group of actors, playwrights, and directors continues to develop new works, re-imagine the Classics, and provide access to theatre for underserved communities.
