The Park Avenue Community Center welcomes award-winning poet and educator Dilruba Ahmed as the next guest in our Rotary Arts Conversations speaker series on Friday, November 14.
Join us for an in-depth discussion with Ahmed, who is most recently the author of the poetry collection, “Bring Now the Angels,” focusing on love, loss, transformation and rebirth. Her poems have been featured in The New York Times Magazine, The Slowdown, and Poetry Unbound.
Ahmed’s debut poetry collection, “Dhaka Dust,” won the Bread Loaf Bakeless Prize and was praised for creating a rich dialogue as she examined what it meant to be raised Bangladeshi-American in small midwestern towns.
The Rotary Arts Conversation Series taps into the creative energy of our community by exploring the work of talented local artists.
Tickets are $10 and include a wine-and-cheese reception after the discussion. Walk-ins are welcome as space permits.
