Join Media Arts Council for a four week plein art watercolor class held in Ridley Park. This is an all-level class with all materials included.  You will be led by local artist, Steph Untz, who will provide a painting kit including a travel watercolor palette, watercolor paper sketchbook, brushes, small cup and a pouch. You’ll just need to bring a chair or blanket to sit on! Students will capture beautiful Ridley Park through a series of shorter studies, building up to a larger finished piece on the last week. Steph will share tricks and techniques for working with watercolor, enabling you to get the most out of each class.

Steph Untz is a painter and maker in Media, PA with a MFA in Painting and Drawing from the University of Tennessee. She began, regularly, painting plein air watercolors 10 years ago when she moved to Japan after marrying her partner as a way to capture and notice the culture surrounding her in Japan. Since then, plein air painting has become a part of her art practice. “I hope to share this practice with anyone joining me to paint at Ridley Creek!”
