Park Avenue Concert Series: Stories in Music

November 16 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

$15 – $25
Stories in Music

Immerse yourself in the transportive magic of storytelling during the next performance of the Park Avenue Concert Series on Sunday, November 16.

“Stories in Music” combines narrative with deeply evocative musical performances. Works include: Ástor Piazzolla’s “Histoire du Tango,” which traces the evolution of the iconic dance form; a spirited arrangement of the traditional Scottish air, “Rob Roy Crosses the Minch”; and Osvaldo Golijov’s “Lúa Descolorida,” a Galician poem set to music, reflecting on themes of longing and loss.

Complementing this performance will be composer Adam Silverman’s “Opus a distanza,” a contemporary piece that serves as a musical reflection on working from home.

Three acclaimed chamber musicians make their Park Avenue Concerts debuts in this performance — percussionist Ted Atkatz, pianist Audrey Andrist, and violinist Timothy Schwarz, together with Park Avenue Concerts Artistic Director and Juilliard faculty cellist Amy Sue Barston.

A reception with the musicians and performers follows the performance. Tickets are $25 adults/$15 for students.
