Driving Tours of four Newtown Square Historic sites, three are on the National Register. Start at the 1800’s Paper Mill House St. David’s and Paper Mill Road enjoying a beautifully restored mill house and history center. Then travel south on route 252 to The 1742 Square Tavern for tours by costumed guides. Leave the tavern and head down Goshen Road one mile to the 1860 Bartram Covered Bridge, only remaining covered bridge in Delaware County, leave the bridge onto Boot Road and head to West Chester Pike, make a right onto route 3 and travel to Drexel Lodge Park and The Newtown Train and Trolley Museum. All Free, guides at each location. Art exhibits at the tavern and Paper Mill House.
