Making Art with the Sun

Join us for a two-part workshop for ages 9-17, exploring the magical art of sun printing. Did you know that this process was developed in the 1800’s as a way to create large copies – which we now know as blueprints? In this mysterious process – which is part science, part art – we will harness the UV rays of the sun on our paper to create beautiful blue works of art. In the first session, we will cover some “traditional” ways to create sunprints, and in the second session, we will add in water for fun & exciting explorations! All materials and plant matter are provided, but you are welcome to bring objects to experiment with (glass containers, dried flowers, coins, etc).
