A 10-week class:
Wednesdays 6-8 PM, September 27-December 6. Final performance December 10

Dive into music composition for small jazz ensemble, no music notation experience required! While experimenting with various approaches to writing music, instructors Chris Oatts and Jacob Kelberman will focus on writing original music for the Fall 2023 session of Jazz After Class. Each week will begin with playing, studying and listening to well-known jazz compositions as well as reviewing music theory and practicing chords and scales; giving students the tools to create their own music.

This 10-week class will culminate in a live collaborative performance with the MAC Theater Class which will be filmed and edited by the MAC Broadcast Class. These films will be available to the students for their personal or professional use.
