MAC ACT: High School Playwriting And Performance Class

Classes Monday evenings 6-8 PM, October 16 – December 4
Write and perform your own short play, no previous playwriting experience necessary. Using themes and stories from Shakespeare’s plays as a launching point, students will work with theater director and instructor Emma Gibson to write and perform their own contemporary short plays and monologues.
This workshop approach to playwriting will allow students to complete and perform their creations by the end of the 8-week class. A final performance will include live original music by the MAC Jazz Small ensemble class and will be filmed and edited by the MAC Broadcast Class. These films will be available to the students for their personal or professional use.
