Dennis Selfridge is a Philadelphia Area singer/songwriter who spent 1985 through 1999 kicking around between the Main Line and the Jersey Shore, writing, and recording a slew of songs. He opened for a handful of big-name acts and left a trail of memories through countless bars, clubs, festivals, and colleges. These days he is a devoted supporter of the Kelly Center and “Bowling Night” is a celebration of those who feed their soul just writing and playing music…
Rocky McNichol is a hometown St Denis hero who’s been sharing his talent and passion for folk music along the Main Line (and beyond) since the 70’s. Rock has released two albums in the past few years, From the Homestead (available on Spotify and Bandcamp) and the soon to be released Songs of Tom Gala by the Freewheelin’ Fools. He also hosts the open mic at the legendary Mermaid Inn in Chestnut Hill the second Thursday of every month.
Jeff Sund was born in Duluth, Minnesota and began to play the guitar at age 12 (as the Beatles released Rubber Soul). His oldest brother, Robert M. Sund, Jr, passed away in 1987 and willed his Gibson B-25 guitar to Jeff (that’s the guitar he is playing in his bio photo). Jeff has performed at countless Folk Events over the past 5 decades. From song circles at the Philly Folk Fest to headlining sets at Spring Gulch Folk Fest. Jeff released a CD, For the Long Winter that was mastered in Nashville and features a host of Jersey session musicians.
Jorge Muniz was born in Cuba. Growing up with lots of Latin music and pop tunes, he started playing guitar at age 14. As he dove deeper into Blues, Bluegrass and Folk music, the Philadelphia Folk Festival became a yearly pilgrimage to play and listen to the music of the campground. Jorge continues to share his keen interest in open tunings and is presently working on material for a CD. He’s also hosting a weekly open mic night. (bowling night?)
Chris McCord has been a performer, session player, and music educator for over thirty years in the Philadelphia area. Most recently he composed the soundtrack for local independent film, “My First Shot.” He toured and recorded back in the 80s and 90s with Dennis Selfridge. He is thrilled to be a part of this event and to be able to catch up after many years with some dear friends!
