129 years ago, on September 26, 1895, Delaware County Historical Society (DCHS) was officially established in Media, the County seat. Since then, DCHS moved from one location to another, and has amassed an amazing collection of items that tell the story of the people who make up Delaware County. For 129 years, DCHS maintained their mission to collect, protect, and preserve the history of Delaware County, PA. This year, on Thursday September 26, DCHS will celebrate the reopening of their new location in Media, 9 W. Front Street, and invites you to come celebrate!

DCHS will host an open house from 10 AM to 3 PM at the new location in Media. The open house will be free and open to the public and will allow people to have the opportunity to walk through, see historic artifacts on display, and to learn more about how DCHS serves the community of Delaware County. Light fare, activities, and entertainment will be on offer outside in our parking lot, weather permitting.

Then at 6:30, DCHS will host a ticketed event for an evening of food, drink, and prizes! There will be a raffle featuring gifts from local businesses, a chance to win a private tour of DCHS’ new location, and so much more! Due paying members of DCHS will receive a promocode for a discounted ticket! While the open house is free to the public, the evening gala event requires the purchase of a ticket. Tickets are limited.
