Pianist and vocalist Chris Marsceill spent his formative years in New Orleans studying with the likes of Ellis Marsalis and other iconic NOLA keys players and playing with nationally touring acts. After the hurricane, Chris moved back to PA and set out to create a band and sound that is all his own, but strongly rooted in the New Orleans musical traditions. His quintet plays expertly crafted funky originals with a few creative arrangements of covers thrown in. Although the music can generally be described as jazz, it incorporates elements of many other styles into an accessible, good-feeling sound. Chris is joined by a strong lineup of highly regarded local musicians and they will be presenting many new songs written over the past year and a half.
