$12 – $15Be sure to join us for our second chamber concert of the 2022-2023 season which features classical greats and their inspirations.
The program includes Mozart’s String Quartet No. 21 in D major which was inspired by Joseph Haydn’s style and is dedicated to the King of Prussia. Aaron Copland’s Quiet City, featuring English horn, was inspired by a play by Irwin Shaw. Also on the program is Beethoven’s String Quartet Op. 18, No. 5. Beethoven modeled this quartet directly on Mozart’s quartet of the same key and it is dedicated to Bohemian aristocrat, Joseph Franz Maximilian, 7th Prince of Lobkowitz.
