About the Exhibition: This exhibition is unique in that not all of the students exhibited are Art majors, since many of the first-year courses can be taken without any art prerequisites. The purpose of the Foundation year is to prepare visual art students for a seamless transition into higher-level course work. Art students interested in pursuing an Associate of Fine Arts Degree in Studio Art, Graphic Design or Photography are required to complete a common core of Foundation art courses designed to provide students with studio-based experience in the fundamental issues of art and design. After students complete the Foundations courses, they receive the Art + Design Foundations Certificate of Competency. The work to be included in each student exhibition is chosen by the program’s current full-time Art faculty.
This exhibition is sponsored by the Delaware County Community College Educational Foundation, Athletics and Campus Engagement, and Communication, Arts & Humanities Division.
