Celebrate Diwali’s Festival of Light
Friday, November 4, 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Its Diwali time! Celebrate the Indian New Year and share in the joy and splendor of this festival of lights with our community on November 4, 2022 from 6 – 7:30pm. Families will experience Diwali customs through dance, live music, art, stories and more to illuminate this cultural holiday. Local artist, Rinal Parikh, will lead the creation of a colorful rongoli design followed by special guest performances. The program will include Kathak dance, classical and fusion style followed by a live percussion and interactive demonstration on a variety of traditional drums. All can make and take bell anklets for participating in learning foot work and hand gestures. Learn about the circle of life and the interconnectedness between people and in this enrichment program fostering cultural awareness for the whole family. Traditional treats and lighting of sparklers after the program.
This is a “Family First Friday” event hosted by the PAC center. Each first Friday of the month engaging and educational programs featuring music, storytelling, cultural experiences, dance, theatre, puppetry, art, science and much more, presented by special guests, will inspire creativity and delight the child in all.
Geared for families with kids 10 and younger – all ages welcome. Reservations requested. Free and Open to the Public. Pay what you wish program. Suggested $15 per family. Donations are much appreciated and support PAC community programs in collaboration with The Creative Living Room
