Autumn Equinox

Come to the Scott Arboretum to wander the gardens, sprawl out on the Cherry Border lawn for a picnic, play a lawn game with the family, make a nature related craft, have a glass of locally made beer or cider and some comfort food, all while surrounded by the beauty of the gardens. The Autumn Equinox will be a perfect, safe way to celebrate fall with the entire event taking place outdoors. Members of the Scott Arboretum will also be welcome to pick up their fall plant dividend while supplies last!

Event Schedule

3 to 4 pm: Experience the Scott Arboretum during the Autumn Equinox at 3:20 pm with a tour led by Horticulturist Josh Coceano and Assistant Horticulturist Rowan Payne-Meyer.

4 to 7 pm: The Cherry Border and Entrance Garden will be featuring music by the Bickel Brothers Band, kids craft tent, food truck, Wrong Crowd Beer, Dressler Estate cider, lawn games, and an absolutely gorgeous venue to sit, relax, or play!

4 to 7 pm: Members of the Scott Arboretum can pick up their fall plant dividend (while supplies last). The choices will be Artic Sun® bloodtwig dogwood (Cornus sanguinea ‘Cato’) and Tuff Stuff™ mountain hydrangea (Hydrangea serrata ‘MAK20’).

6 to 7 pm: Twilight tour of the Scott Arboretum with Director of Grounds and Coordinator of Horticulture Jeff Jabco and Education Programs Coordinator Julie Jenney.
