Adrian Hickman joined Kelly Music for Life shortly after being diagnosed with cancer.  Adrian needed something that he could love while facing the toughest of all battles.  With a goal of helping to one day open a music venue in Havertown, Adrian assumed Promotion responsibilities for all fundraising music events for Kelly.  Adrian fought cancer valiantly, worked tirelessly and purposefully promoted fundraisers, festivals and park concerts until the dream was realized, identifying a suitable space with renovation plans in 2017 for what would become the Kelly Center for Music, Arts and Community.  Sadly, Adrian succumbed to cancer and passed away just weeks before the official opening, but he knew his dream had been realized.

Adrian Hickman championed local artists and befriended many along the way.  Shortly after his death, several gathered at the Kelly Center on September 15, 2019 taking the stage to pay tribute to Adrian for his impact and love for the Philadelphia music scene.  With the support of Adrian’s sister Julie we have invited Adrian’s favorite performers to gather on the 5 year Anniversary of the original Memorial, Sunday 3pm to 7pm, September 15, 2024.

Confirmed Live Acoustic Performers so far include Cliff Hillis, Scott McClatchy, Matt Santry, John Faye, Keith Shaw, Suzanne Lavine, Kenn Kweder, Lauren Hart, John Byrne, Jim Boggia, Steve Butler.
