Natural materials have been used for centuries to produce a wide range of colors. Learn about natural dyeing in the 18th century and the common dye plants grown in the farm’s garden as well as those from around the world. Participants will dye their own 18th century men’s cravat or ladies scarf using cochineal and madder root.

This workshop will be held outside and participants should dress comfortably for the weather and are required to wear closed toed shoes. No food will be provided; participants are encouraged to bring their own snacks and drinks.

The minimum age for this workshop is 14 and participants between the ages of 14 and 16 must be accompanied by an adult also participating in the workshop.
