Howard Whitman has been playing guitar and writing songs since his early teens and got serious (sorta) about music in the mid-1980s with his college-era Motown spoof band The Groovetones. He released his first album, Womanquest, in 1987, and has subsequently played with a variety of cover bands including Pure Ground, Dogs Playing Cards, and Where’s Pete. Currently, he plays bass and is one of the lead vocalists in the popular Kansas/Styx tribute band Know Return; he also performs with the Monaco-Whitman Duo (with Vic Monaco of Clapton America) and as a solo artist.
