Travels at Twelve: A Botanical Paradise: Kazakhstan & the Altai Mountains

FreeJoin Paul Meyer for an illustrated lecture on his botanical travels in northeast Kazakhstan. Few travelers from the western world have visited this extraordinarily beautiful region, noted for its rich steppe and alpine flora. In addition, he will share stories of the people, architecture and culture.
Paul Meyer is the Retired F. Otto Haas Executive Director of the Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania.
In his 43 year tenure at the Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania, Paul Meyer played a major role in the restoration of the Arboretum’s historic gardens, architecture, and extraordinary plant collections, and rebuilt its financial foundations. He has taught Urban Horticulture in the University of Pennsylvania’s Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning Department and is a frequent contributor to horticultural publications.
