Reclaiming Chester’s King: #BagIt Service Project
Monday, January 20, 8:30 am - 10:00 am(registration required)
Team Leaders and Volunteers will meet at three different locations throughout Chester at 8:30 am on Monday, January 20, 2020. We will have a brief meeting/ information, then commence to distribute re-usable grocery bags throughout Chester neighborhoods for about 45 minutes. Following the bag distribution, teams will meet at the MJ Freed Theatre for refreshments and a debriefing/ discussion at around 10 am. A theatrical King Reading presentation is scheduled for 12:00 pm. Volunteers and Team Leaders for this event need to be able to walk comfortably for about an hour. Wear comfortable shoes. Dress warmly/ appropriately. Only those who have signed up will be permitted to participate in the event. This event has been organized by New Integration Accommodations in partnership with the Chester Housing Authority.
All volunteers must register through this link for our team to ensure an accurate count. No one under 18 years old may participate without a parent or guardian present.
Those who do not register will not be allowed to participate in the primary distribution exercises.
There will be two recommended planning meetings, one on Wednesday, January 8th, the other on Wednesday January 15th. Both meetings will be held at 6:30 pm at Booker T. Washington Center in Chester (611 Central Avenue). Come if you can, if you can’t, we will contact you will information.
